Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of MemberRoute. By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of your business.

MemberRoute provides software to create, sell, bill, and administer memberships. Payments from your customers are processed by Stripe directly to your Stripe account; you are the merchant of record and are responsible for your offers, pricing, taxes, refunds, disputes, and compliance with consumer-protection and automatic-renewal laws that apply to you. MemberRoute’s default membership terms, consent step, reminders and online cancellation are designed to meet US automatic-renewal laws, but they are not legal advice.

Fees. MemberRoute charges a flat platform fee for the software (your MemberRoute plan). We do not take a commission or any percentage of your membership revenue, and we do not add fees to your members’ payments. Stripe’s own processing fees apply to those payments under your agreement with Stripe and are paid to Stripe, not to MemberRoute. We will not introduce a commission or transaction fee on your membership revenue without at least 30 days’ email notice, and you may cancel before it applies.

Your MemberRoute subscription: trial, renewal, cancellation and refunds

Plans and prices. Starter, Growth and Scale are billed monthly or yearly at the prices shown on our pricing page and in the app when you choose a plan, in US dollars, plus any applicable tax. Charges are processed by Stripe to the card you provide.

Free trial. A payment card is required to start the 14-day free trial, and each business can have one free trial. Nothing is charged when the trial starts. Unless you cancel, your paid subscription starts automatically when the trial ends and your card is charged the plan price on that date. We email you when the trial starts, 7 days before it ends and again 3 days before it ends.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the start of each monthly or yearly billing period, and your card is charged the plan price each time, until you cancel. There is no minimum term. We email a receipt after each charge, a reminder 20–30 days before each yearly renewal, and, for monthly plans, a yearly reminder of these terms.

How to cancel. Cancel online at any time in Settings → MemberRoute plan → Cancel subscription — it takes one click to confirm and no call is needed. You can also email support; we treat the time we receive your email as the time you canceled and confirm by email within one business day. You can undo a cancellation (“Keep my plan”) until it takes effect.

The 24-hour rule. If you cancel at least 24 hours before a scheduled charge (including the first charge after your trial), that charge will not be made and your subscription ends on the date of that charge. If you cancel less than 24 hours before a scheduled charge, that charge will be processed and your subscription ends at the end of the billing period it covers. The cancellation screen tells you which applies before you confirm, and we email a confirmation with the exact end date.

After cancellation. Your plan stays fully active until it ends, and for a 7-day grace period afterwards. After that your workspace becomes read-only: you can sign in to view and export your data and to cancel memberships, but redeeming services, creating or changing plans, adding members, online signups and automated member emails stop, and members no longer see service balances in their portal. Your members’ subscriptions are with your own Stripe account and keep billing until you or they cancel them; once your workspace is read-only you are responsible for any renewal notices the law requires. Reactivating a plan restores everything.

Refunds. 30-day guarantee: if MemberRoute isn’t right for you, email support within 30 days of your first paid charge and we will refund that charge in full. We also refund any charge made in error or after your cancellation took effect. Otherwise, charges are not refunded and partially used billing periods are not prorated, except where the law requires a refund.

Price changes. We will email you at least 30 days before any price change applies to your subscription, with the new price and how to cancel. If you don’t want the new price, cancel before it applies. If you are charged the new price without having agreed to it, you may cancel within 14 days after that charge and we will refund the unused part of that period.

Failed payments. If a charge fails, Stripe retries it and we email you. If the payment can’t be collected your subscription may end; your data stays exportable.

Accounts, data and liability

You must keep your account credentials secure and enable two-step verification for owner and manager accounts. You are responsible for activity by users you invite.

You own your data. You can export it at any time. After account closure we delete or anonymize your data after applicable retention periods.

The service is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. Our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before a claim.
